Lifeguard Training
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is the recognised qualification for lifeguarding in public swimming pools, from the Royal Life Saving Society.
Training as a lifeguard provides an enjoyable opportunity to earn money, working full or part time, during holiday periods or to start a career in the leisure industry. The course is open to those aged 16 or over.
It involves 38 hours of course time and can be completed either as an intensive course or over a number of weeks.
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) consists of two units and is only awarded upon successful completion of both units. You must successfully complete both Units of the assessment within a 6 month period. All elements of Unit 1 must be successfully assessed within a 28 day period, and for renewal candidates, within the period of validity of your existing qualification.
